Thank you for the help that this forum provides.
I rebooted.
The dial up error started occuring after he tried to address having no modem and no sound.
Problems with the modem and sound seemed to start after installing Nero. Nero was uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated.
I have not tried a system restore because there has been alot of files and software added since then.
