Now this is a strange one, I'm suffering an attack from a host of malware/adware/virus/trojan files that Norton System Works 2005, Spybot, Spywareblaster, Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic are able to identify and remove, but they simply return on reboot (even after removing during safe mode). BTW this PC has multiple users/profiles. I am pretty sure this has something to do with my inability to install Norton Firewall 2005 (download edition). On downloading the install file I run it and press Install only to be greeted with a Windows (XP Pro) error message asking to send a report back to Microsoft. I've tried re-downloading the file 4 times - to different locations/drives in an attempt to remove the possibility of a corrupt download file. Symantec's response insist it is a corrupt file but don't offer a solution to find a non-corrupt version.

Has anyone had this problem or may know of a package that can rid me of all those nasty viruses?

I've attached my latest HijackThis log file.

Many, many thanks.
