I thought I would start up a new thread for all of those people who are new to firefox and wonder how to make firefox more friendlier... You may find the Firefox Web Browser here.
AdBlock - Adblock is a content filtering plug-in for the Mozilla and Firebird browsers. It is both more robust and more precise than the built-in image blocker. Adblock allows the user to specify filters, which remove unwanted content based on the source-address. If this sounds complicated, don't worry: it's not. Just add a few filters. Every time a webpage loads, Adblock will intercept and disable the elements matching your filters. See?- nothing to it. ForecastFox - Get international weather forecasts from AccuWeather.com, and display it in any toolbar or statusbar with this highly customizable and unobtrusive extension. Tabbrowser Preferences - Enables enhanced control for some aspects of tabbed browsing. IE View - Adds "View page in Internet Explorer" links to the content and link context menu. Handy for previewing pages in IE, loading up IE-only pages when you run across them in Mozilla, etc. Gmail Notifier - A notifier for Gmail accounts. It allows you to access your webmail for gmail. FlashGot - Download one link, selected links or all the links of a page at the maximum speed with a single click, using the most popular external download managers for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and FreeBSD (25 currently supported products, see http://www.flashgot.net for details). FlashGot offers also a Build Gallery functionality which helps to synthetize full media galleries in one page, from serial contents previously scattered on several pages, for easy and fast "download all". FoxyTunes - Do you listen to Music while surfing the Web? Now you can control your favorite media player without ever leaving the browser and more... Supports WinAmp, iTunes, foobar2000, Windows Media Player, Musicmatch, Quintessential, J. River, jetAudio, XMPlay, MediaMonkey, Media Player Classic, Sonique, wxMusik, Real Player, XMMS, Noatun, Juk, Amarok, Music Player Daemon, Rhythmbox and many other players. SessionSaver - SessionSaver restores your browser -exactly- as you left it, every startup, every time. Not even a crash will phase it. Windows, tabs, even things you were typing -- they're all saved. Use the menu to add + remove sessions; right, shift, or middle-clicking will delete. "Simple mode" for peace of mind, or "Expert mode" for advanced flexibility. FireFTP - fireFTP is a cross-platform FTP client for Mozilla Firefox which provides easy and intuitive access to FTP servers. Here are just a few of many great extensions for Firefox. Firefox users, please, post your favorite and most useful extensions here. You can find other extensions here. Thanks for any input over the topic, Raistlin ****The descriptions over the firefox extensions were taken from Firefoxs extension site.**** |
