Firefox slow launching
I just added Firefox 1.5.1 to a new Win2K install on a Dell Dimension P3 computer with 128ram. It takes 5 or 6 times longer for it to launch than IE. Anybody got any clue why this is and what I can do to make it launch faster. I have all the tweaks already done to it, in about:config

Its another memory thing Melodi. I stopped using it because of thier poor coding which turned a good browser into a memory leaking, resource stealing hog.
There is an addon tool that will load some parts of Firefox on startup for better loading times: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ffpreloader/ |

Mel....I wish I had an answer for that one. They have known it since many versions ago and have not addressed the coding issue and memory leaks. I just ditched it and chose to lockdown Internet Explorer and go with that.
I use the cyberanswers toolbar , spyware Blaster, Spybot, Nod32 and mostly common sense and I havent had any issues yet.. ![]() |

What I did was, I had the set up for firefox 1.0.7 and installed that. Seems to work better, only uses between 16,000 to 20,000 k of memory where the 1.5.1 uses almost 40,000. I will take a look at the said toolbar
