Many keyboard users tend to eat while they use the computer.
If the keyboard is sticky you can clean it with water, it wont harm the keys as long as the water doesn't contain impurities and the keyboard is not plugged into the computer while its still wet. As bizzarre as this sounds, you can actually place your keyboard in your dishwasher. Make sure the water is free of iron and other minerals. Never use soap !! Dont leave the keyboard in the machine for the dry cycle, the heat can cause damage. Let it dry overnight.
