The konfabulator is a very nice program to add widgets to your desktop.

You may ask what is a widget? Well a widget is just a simple program that is put on your desktop interface to help make things easier on a computer user. A widget can show the time as of right now or it can show the movies that are playing in your area. A widget can display many things, the traffic outside your house, system utilities (CPU usage/memory usage), news, weather, ebay tracker, fed ex delivery, and just tons more!!!!
