After checking out multiple themes and visual style using Windows Blinds and TGT Softs, Style XP, I got rather bored. A friend told me to try out LiteStep which is a whole new look for your computer. It changes everything around. Here is the website : http://www.litestep.net/ .... This is a whole new shell for Windows XP. Here is a quick overview on what a shell is : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shell_(computers) The current shel that is used by Windows XP is explorer.exe. LiteStep allows you to switch from one shell to another easily by adding a desktop icon on your computer that switches the shell. A very easy installation for anyone.

One warning I do want to tell a few people is that the themes you get for the shell, may not work.... Here is an excellent theme for your computer, that I am currently using. http://nonstep.litestep.com/download/ Here are a few screenshots for you guys...

The Classic_Blue theme from NON-STEP

It is a very nice shell if you like a linux feel... Anyway have fun...

Yes, it is all very simple to do. It takes a second to install it and at the end, I think it may prompt you to reboot after that. I would also recommend trying out litestep, it is also a very easy install, if oyu hate the look of Windows and want a more linux look.

Hey Jester,

Yes, Stardock is easy to uninstall. Of course the program may require you to reboot your computer. It will also have a few traces in your "Program Files" dir with your themes in it.... Though, iyou can delete that dir manually...

Anyway onto your next question... This is what I see you are trying to ask. I believe you are talking about changing the taskbar, start menu, and the explorer view? Anyway, if your looking for themes check out wincustomize and winmatrix(if you patch xp)

It may also be easier to just patch your file like Mobo said in a previus post, whch is also easy to undo... Takes up less RAM and memory also, if you don't have much to spare...

I will post back later...

A continuation of my post... Sorry about that...

Anyway, if you are using Stardcks Window Blinds, you can only apply themes to your desktop... You can find themes for WindowBlinds here. Here is the are a few themes that maybe similiar to what you are looking for... http://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?Lib...rchtxt=Longhorn

You can browse through thos and pick the theme you like the best, if you want to do Longhorn themes of course. Might I also add that you will have to install other programs to do the icons, widgets, and etc... The only way to change icons is using the iconpackger made by Stardock... You can pick through tons of icons by going to www.wincustomize.com!

Another choice is of course patching it. Here is a very nice theme if you choose to patch up XP. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/20604210/

Hope this helps,
Rat

Awww, but the fonts can be changed Jester. They can be overrided eeasily in Window Blinds... All you have to do is go to the main window of Window Blinds where you can choose your themes and go to "User Overides" and change the font to your liking.
