No headset sound

I just purchased a headset with a mic so I could chat online more easily but it seems to not want to work properly. Seems that I cant hear anything with it.

First thing is welcome tasha

Now we have to first see what we are dealing with in terms of a sound card so download this utility, install and run it.
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/everest.html

What we are loking for is motherboard make and model, unless you have a separate sound card. In that case we need the sound card make and model.

Just post that info here for me.

Ok, download this http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mis...r/cuvk7w2k.zip
to your desktop.

Then unzip it and it will create a an AMR folder on the desktop..

Then go to the control panel and look for your sound device. Right click and select properties and look for the option to reinstall the drivers.

Then when it asks for the path to the driver, you must point it at the AMR folder/PCtel folder /WinME.
It should then pick up the appropriate driver and then install it. Reboot afterwards and try it out. Make sure the volume is turned up as well and the unit is plugged into the proper port on the back of the computer.
