bypass password?

My girlfriend called me yesterday - her son somehow made it so she can not get on her computer without entering a password first ,, and of course ,, now her son doesnt know what the password is. Is it possible to bypass this somehow? Can she access things on her computer by going into safe mode??

Hmmm... What Operating system is it? Is it through the BIOS or through the log in screen. Im supposing your gf is using Windows XP and her son blocked her by changing the password to her login account. If this assumption is corrext there are multiple ways of finding getting through this...

Boot the pc into safe mode:
http://www.cyberanswers.org/safemode.php

Then go to the control panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security Settings/Minimum Password Length/Reduce it to 0 (No password required).

Also well do this:
Control Panel/User Account/Your Account/Remove Password.

Now reboot normally

sorry it took me a bit to get back to you ,, I was trying to contact my girlfriend to ask her about her operating system ,,, I could not tho ,, I do believe she has windows xp ,,, but she told me earlier that as soon as she turns the computer on ,, before it even loads completely, that this little screen pops up ,, says owner ,, then asks for password.
Thanks for all the info ,,, I will read all , copy it and get back to you after I have talked with her
Thanks again hon

Oh yes and here is a link for the main homepage if that one does not work to the exact location : http://www.petri.co.il/index.htm

From there, there is an article to the left of the webpage that says "Forgot the Administrator's Password?", click on that and that should link you there... Sorry for the confusion.
