help with chipset? BIOS? Drivers?

Hello:
I have someone's computer who had the mobo replaced in December because it was the computer was locking up. I don't know what made the computer mechanic decide it was a mobo problem, all I know is that the computer is doing it again, but different. It's not spyware, Pancake and Mobo already cleaned it up. This is what happened to her, and then to me in two completely different households.

Left the computer on overnight friday night with no screen saver set. Saturday morning PC still connected wirelessly via usb to internet computer still working wonderfully. No problems.

Unhook computer, work on other computer, Sunday morning rehook up computer with usb wireless card and screen saver SET to turn on to the TIME after 14 minutes. We left for church at 9:30am, came home at 12:50 and computer has the time of 9:37:27 displayed on a black background screen. Nothing would get it to go away. The mouse, keyboard all useless. I popped in a music CD hoping it would 'wake up' the PC, nothing. I hooked up some speakers and there was no music playing but when we hit the volume button the pc restarted. I restarted but when it came back up the keyboard and mouse were still useless. I had to hard power it down and when it came back up the usb wireless card was useless.

The new MOBO is MSI 6738 KM2M COMBO-L
The BIOS is Phoenix Award BIOS
CMOS setup Utility

Add/remove programs has a generic entry for 'usb driver' that uses .78mgs

I did go here and downloaded the drivers. I left 3 browsers open and bitdefender running and walked away, later I came back and found it stuck at 6:46pm
I couldn't get the computer to come back on, so I powered it off with the power button, left it off for 1 minute powered it back on and there was no POST beep, however it did power on, the lights came on.

I shut it down again left it off for 20 minutes then powered it back on and it was fine again. so what's the deal guys????

Tuesday morning I"m meeting Eva at the place she bought it at, she wants me to explain to them it's not PEBKAC (problem exists between keyboard and chair)

Do you think it would have anything to do with Trojans? I've seen some computers with more trojans that didn't lock up like this

It's only locking up with the time screen saver??? The flying flowerboxes does not lock up the computer.
