Monitor suggestion, please

I do alot of graphics work now and will be adding more memory to my computer, another 2 gigs actually to the 1 gig I already have. I will be upgrading my video card to a 256 BIT card, found a nVidia 7800GT 256MB DVI/VIVO PCI-Express within my budget. But I am also getting a new montior as well. I need one that is DVI compatible. Mine currently is not. I would prefer a 20+ inch but 19 would work. Any suggestions as to what I might look at that isn't horrendously priced? Liz

You do know Liz that you can just get adaptars for your monitor. So say you have a DVI out only, but have a VGA video card. You can get an adapter that will hook up into VGA video card that willl then connect that video card to the monitor.

May I also ask what mobo and processor is going to be in your pc. The reason I ask about the processor is due to the fact that if your processor is slow, then your video card won't be able to live up to its full potential. And your cpu speed will slow down your video card, because the cpu is to slow and can't handle such an awsome video card.

I thought I might mention this, but you would need to do a little bit more research over this, because I am not totally sure if this will work any better or not, but if your trying to do a lot of graphics it maybe time to get a mobo that has SLI support. Like I said you will probably have to look into it more and see if there is much of a difference or not, but there maybe quite a bit of difference when just messing with graphics. That is if your doing 3d rendering stuff with your computer.

The motherboard and processor are already there. This is an upgrade on the video card that I already have. The computer is fairly new, we just decided that since I am doing lots of graphics work to go ahead and upgrade me to a 256 BIT card not a 128 bit card which is what I have now.

What I currently have:
Asrock 939Dual-SATA2
AMD 64 3200+ processor
1 gig memory to be upgraded to 3 gigs
Currently running a nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128-bit

So you see, the mobo and processor can handle what I'm throwing at it. Liz

You should also look at your power supply Liz. With all those memory compoents, 64 bit cpu, large Graphics card and other modules, you will need some decent power behind it all so atleast 400 watt to do the job correctly. I would like to see 450 watts and those are pretty inexpensive.
