Printer help

ok i had this printer for a year about and it worked fine since today. It doesnt print print color or black. ok it prints like the cartiage moves and the paper goes threw but not even a little tiny ink goes on the paper. i shaked the cartiages and it seems empty. should i buy new printer ? or take a chance and buy ink things and waste money when its the printers problem what should i do

is there an ink monitor in the printer control panel ? probably empty but do a cleaning via the printer options . some economy printers are cheaper to buy than replace the ink if it is indeed empty.

sorry i didn`t respond earlier ...you are indeed probably out of ink . if you are getting a new printer , price the cost of cartridges for the old one just to see if there is much of a difference.
