there was a firmware update for your router

What password do I need though. I know of no password for anything that comes close to my router.

Did you ever use a password to set it up ? If so then use it. If not then try just clicking enter

It still is not working and I know that I defintly did not set up a password for it.

They have a default login of admin and just press enter for the password..

Open Internet explorerand trype in for the url:

Http://192.168.0.1

use admin for the login
click enter for the password

After rreading a little here it says that the firewall cannot be disabled on the router and it is on by default.

If you think there is reason to believe that it isn't running then you may want to try resetting the router to its factory defaults.
1.power off the router
2.Press the reset button and hold
3.Power on the device
4.Keep the button pressed for 5 seconds
5.Release the button
6.watch the m1 and m2 leds. they will flash 8 times and then the m1 will flash once per second

No, there is no password. I see my
IP Address
Subnet Mask
Gateway
Domain Name Server
Modem Not ready
Firmware version 2.56 build 20
MAC Address

And under tools I see password, but it does not give it. This is prettty much all it says.

Change Password Old Password
New Password
Reconfirm
