I can't help but paint a mental picture of that

I really need to see a fresh HJT log from the infected machine - if it does or doesn't work, post that so I can see where you are up to. It's getting late over here (GMT) - I'll be online about another half an hour. Either Mobo will pick up with you or I'll get it in the morning.

Yes, you have the Bube virus and the new qoologic variant.

Click Start>Run type msconfig>OK and disable all McAfee entries in the Services and Start-up tabs

You have already downloaded Kapersky, right? Check for an update. Go to Settings > Configure Updater > Choose Extended Database from the "update type" drop down menu. Click *OK* and then Check for Updates
Click on Settings and choose Configure On-demand scan settings and select Perform recommended action and click *OK*.

Scan with Kaspersky and allow it to remove everything it finds. Then go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

and download MSAS, check for updates and run it. Let me know what the two programs removed and post a new HJT log.
