Hi anyone!

I'm relatively new to spyware hunting but I've been reading forums and using Spybot S&D, AdAware and HiJackThis to get rid of unwanted system junk bit by bit. I still have pop-up problems, but not severe...although it was at one point.

My question is this...

How do I get rid of this eliteuvf32.exe that is showing up in my registry?

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [checkrun] C:\winnt\system32\eliteuvf32.exe

While in HiJack or Registry Mechanic if I delete this, my system will automatically write it back in after about 2 seconds. It's **** creepy! One more wrinkle, I can't seem to do a Safe-Mode boot...my system just hangs when I try.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alex

There must be a trigger file hiding somewhere that regenerates it after you attempt a repair. You can post a hijack log and we may be able to see more.

Don't see any trigger there so lets try this first:

Download Killbox from here:[Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]
unzip the file to your Desktop and have it ready to use.

Close Internet Explorer and all open windows and run Hijack This again. Check the below entries and click on Fix Checked.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [checkrun] C:\winnt\system32\eliteuvf32.exe

Afterwards, reboot into safe mode : [Only Registered and Activated Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]
Then Run or open killbox. Paste this line in the provided space:

C:\winnt\system32\eliteuvf32.exe

Tick "Delete on reboo" then click the red x and reboot when prompted. After rebooting rescan again with hijack and post a fresh log please.

Hi Mobo,

I can't seem to do a successful Safe-Mode reboot. My system gets to the black screen with Starting Windows at the the bottom, fills the progress bar...then it hangs. I tried 3 times without any luck.

On a side note, when I fix the eliteuvf32.exe with HiJack, if I rescan, it has reappeared back on the list again.

Any suggestions?

No, its just that sometimes they can act accordinglt to what you described. I would try it again and let it stand for about 5 minutes and see if it ever loads.
