My screen loaded and then instantly a blue screen comes up that says

Problem detected, windows is being shut down to prevent damage.

BAD_POOL_CALLER

If this is the first time you've seen the "stop error screen" then restart. If it has occured before follow these steps.. then a bunch of steps

***STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x000000003, a bunch more of those)

Beginngin dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact system administrator or technical support group for further support.

Haha so that's basically it.

I have some good news and some bad news. I have seen that error many times and each were a result of bad memory.

There is something we can do to test the situation however.

What i will need for you to do is unplug the power for the pc then open up the computer case by removing the case screws on the back.

Then I want to to look for the memory stick(s). They should look like thisl

If there is more than one then great. Click the white tabs on each end to open the modules up for removal. We want to only have one in and try rebooting normally.

If you only have one then do you have a cd burner on another computer that you can burn a disk to run some tests on the single memory module ?

It's a laptop, I changed the memory on my iMac once, but this is completely different. I'm assuming it has one and yes I have disc burners. If you still want me to check I will but tell me where because well it's a laptop.

Ok, on the bottom of the laptop should be a small window and screw as shown here

http://www.fonerbooks.com/laptop/memory_2.jpg

Remove the screw

Here is an image of the memory
http://www.fonerbooks.com/laptop/memory_7.jpg

There are tabs on each side that must be opened then lift out the ram.

Replace the windo and screw then try restarting the unit with the built in memory..

Most laptops have an integrated memory stick as well so we will have to try testing it instead.

Download memtest86 from here:
http://www.memtest.org/download/1.60...+-1.60.iso.zip unzip the iso file to the desktop.

Then go here, register and download the nti cd/dvd trial version..Install it. Then double click on the iso file on your desktop and have a blank cd in the burner drive. This will make a bootable cdrom that you will insert into the cd of the laptop and boot from it. If the laptop screen says something like "press any key to boot from cd" then do it..

We need to run the tests from that program. Errors will signify bad ram..
