can't get to yahoo

I don't have an hjt log to post, I don't even have the puter here. I had it here two weeks ago and did a rudimentary clean up on it and uninstalled the AOL applications. The family can get to Yahoo going thru google and I can type in the ip address of yahoo and get there, but the browser will not resolve the dns Yahoo. So what's with that?

They have windows xp home, using verizon dsl and norton internet securities 2006

Thanks

Didn't we do this once before ?

Ask what if anything did they recently install. Try creating a restore point then restoring to an older restore point of maybe a month ago.

Then try clearing the dns cache:
Click Start > Run.
Enter ipconfig /flushdns in the Open: textbox

I did the flushdns and I thought it was more than a awhile ago. When I go there I will give it another try. Thanks
Remember: 4 hour rule, if it's more than 4 hours ago, I don't remember it
