First you will need to download these programs:
Killbox - http://www.spyware911.net/downloads/KillBox.exe

Dllcompare - http://www.spyware911.net/downloads/DllCompare.exe

VX2 Finder.exe - http://www.spyware911.net/downloads/...erInternet.exe

Now open Dllcompare.exe. The first thin is to click on “Run Locate.com”. When the scan is complete which is fairly quick, click ”COMPARE”. When the comparison scan is completed a small list of items should be listed in the lower window. These are the files to be removed.
At this point click “Make a log of what was found” and when asked click yes to view the log.

Copy and paste that log here..

Open Killbox.exe and paste in the space provided in Killbox C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\tipi.dll.
Then tick the Delete on reboot option and click the red X. This sets it to delete on reboot but don’t reboot just yet.
Do this for all dll files listed below
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\lvns09~1.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\aki9dgaa.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\m064la~1.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ugl.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sytupwbv.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kudlt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kt02l7~1.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\zxebauth.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\p48q0e~1.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\guard.tmp

Now rescan with hijackthis and insert a check next to each of the following entries, close all other browser windows and click “fix checked”
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com

Reboot:

then post a fresh hijack log as well as watch to see if that error is produced once again.

Mobo,
One thing that might be related...Around the same time I started having this problem, I started having problems with the Canon MultiPASS; specifically, the icon in the task bar disappeared and when I shut down, I got an error that monitr32 was not responding and could not be shut down. I tried removing and re-installing the software, but that didn't work. The software is now removed.

click here and download findit.zip: http://www.spyware911.net/downloads/FindIt.zip

Unzip it and double-click on Find.bat to run it. It should run for a few seconds, then open Output.txt file. Copy and paste the contents of output.txt here. Once that's done, close the text file and then press any key and the batch file will end.

as well:
I want you to open windows explorer, navigate to the system32 folder. then enter it, right click on any empty space and select "View". set it to detail. Then right click again and "Arrange" then set it to date..

Now scroll down in the list and you can probably go to the bottom of the list. Look for a couple or maybe more files together with the same date and sizes which are between 215kb and 221 kb in size.

Paste those here please and be sure to include thier sizes as well so we can begin the cleaning process...
