Hi, my PC has what looks like some sort of virus or spyware. It's really slow and the registry is going nuts with a process called ssl32dr.exe. I scanned with adaware etc (with latest definitions file) and it found a few problems. McAfee full scan also found some problem files (soundblaster.exe) and I deleted. Both are now saying I'm clean but regedit still has loads of keys with ssl32dr. When I delete them manually from the registry they just come straight back. I hope somebody can help. Here is my hijack this log:

Hi and welcome.
You can begin by rescanning again with hijack then insert a check next to each of the following, close all other open windows then click "fix checked" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows SSL Secondary Drivers] SSL32Dr.exe O4 - HKCU\..\RunServices: [Windows SSL Secondary Drivers] SSL32Dr.exe O23 - Service: SmartLinkService - Unknown - slserv.exe (file missing) O23 - Service: TFTP Server - Unknown - c:\windows\java\tftp4nt.exe (file missing) Then : Navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder. Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder. Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK. Empty the Recycle Bin Now Go to Start>Run and type msconfig Press enter. When msconfig opens, click the Launch System Restore Button. On the next page, click the System Restore Settings Link on the left. Check the box labeled Turn off System restore on all Drives. Reboot. Go back in and Turn System Restore Back on. A new Restore Point will be created. Reboot, rescan with hijack and post a fresh hijack log as well as note if anymore errors are present. |

Fantastic...thanks for such a prompt reply, you're a legend!
I'm not going to be able to apply this until after next week but I'll post a fresh log then and hopefully I'll be clean! Thanks again, Paul |
