questions about Vista

I have a new computer ( about 2 months now ). It has Windows Vista which I have had no real problem with so far. I do have questions though.

I am using AVG 8.0 free anti virus. I heard several opinions about AVG 8.0 and would like to know what you think.

1)I am told that AVG's spyware can cause great system slowdown and isnt as great as other spywares out there. Also that AVG 8.0 is incompatible with SpywareBlaster and Spybot.

2) I was going to download ATF cleaner but see that it is not compatible with Vista. Is there one that is? Do I really need one or is cleaning my cache enough?

Hello,

I just installed AVG 8.0 on a Vista Home Basic Laptop yesterday, there is an issue between AVG and Vista that requires a patch. While installing AVG you will be instructed to install it. I also installed Spybot and Spywareblaster and have no issues so far.
If I am not mistaken, Cleanup! i compatible, just installed it too.

I have heard of this problem at other sites. I thought the last set of Hotfixes from MS fixed it.
