Remove "Emails unread" In XP bootup

For a little extra privacy you can remove the entry on the login screen that lets everyone know that you have unread emails.
1. Go to start / run / and type regedit.
2 . To disable forone user account - HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMICROSOFTWINDOWSCURRENTVE RSIONUNREADMAIL.
3. To disable that feature for all accounts - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMICROSOFTWINDOWSCURRENTV ERSIONUNREADMAIL. 4.Create adword key and name it MessageExpiryDays.
5. Then give that key a value of 0

You can also just remove the Welcome Screen option altogether and boot to a password logon instead.

Go to start>control panel>user accounts> change the way users log on or off and then uncheck the one that says *use the welcome screen*. That elimates that altogether. Liz
