Something else I've noticed
With me using both Windows 2000 and XP, I have noticed a REAL differnce.
The biggest one seems to be in the display. Okay, I like to run my settings at 1152 x 864 at 32 bit high color and with my graphics card, I have NO trouble doing that. It handles it very nicely, it should. This is on XP. Never thought I had a lick of trouble. Then I get to 2000 and all H#LL breaks loose. I have the WORST looking display. It is all funky looking and at anything above 1024 x 768 and it looks like there are pixels missing. In XP, I can go to 1280 x 960 and the quality is there even if I can't READ it. So why the difference? It's the SAME graphics card cause it's a dual boot system. Can we explain this one? Liz |

The driver for nVidia is the same, I found the Directx, so where do I put that one once I download it? Liz

That's the one I got but remember, I'm running a dual boot, and had to download it to a seperate section, it's going to ask me where? I have two *hard drives* it COULD go in, my I drive and my C drive. The C drive is where I want it to go. Liz

You'll have to be operating in 2000 so save it to that desktop and when you reboot into 2000 just execute the executable file. It should take care of the rest for you.

Good luck but keep in mind that w2k wasn't built for graphics and thus graphic artists, gamers etc never really embrace it. They usually go 98 or XP.

Well, like I said when I first mentioned getting 2000, we went from 98 to ME to XP Pro, skipping 2000 altogether. but hubby has it at work and if I am going to help people I need to know and understand it.
