Smile Do I need to keep this file on my computer for it to run properly? ~ arr3.jar-1bde...

This is most of the name of the file ~
arr3.jar-1bde2f45

Is this something I need to have on my computer in order for it to run properly???

Nortons said it was infected, so I've got it in the trash, but before I chuck it out, I want to make sure it's not a system type file.

It was in doc and settings folder deeper down in a folder called Sun, .... and on and on ~

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated..

thank you
Mico & Coco

You are safe to delete it as it is most likely infected. There are many trojans infecting by means of java so clearing the java cache is a good idea as well.

Clearing the Java Cache

  • Click Start | Settings | Control Panel
  • Click the Java Plugin Icon
  • Click the Cache tab or sometimes depending on the java version it may be called temporary files
  • Click the Clear button and click OK to confirm
  • Note: Please repeat this procedure for each "Java Plugin" button in your Control Panel
