Okay so...laptop

Okay so I don't know why my other accont got disabled because I tried helping a friend and I got aggrvated because now I just lost all my files on my desktop because Pancake's directions weren't clear since I had to redo it 3 times when after he said after typing in the first pathway, press enter and then let hijackthis log open and then under that it said then type in pathway again which I couldn't, and on the 3 time everything got deleted. But now I have a laptop and I have a couple problems, On Windows Movie Maker, the display screen only stays one size and won't let me switch, and then when I make a clip shorter, and try and play it, it freezes for a couple seconds and then plays. And I just did a Disk Clean and now the lil pictures that show up on the size of the name in my favorites are gone and it just gives me an IE symbol, not the picture it originally gave me, so what did I do wrong now.
