alert My dad moved the modem from my pc to his pc so that he gets a better signal.. but...

Sup everyone...

Well my dad wants the modem that is at my pc to be on his pc so that he gets a better signal. But the problem is that when we put the modem on his pc/installed it on it.. It said "limited or no connectivity" And we called the cablevision place and they said that we might be missing a driver or something? Our network driver (driver manager place )
says that its is SIS 900- based pci fast ethernet adapter.. Which is our local connectoin. I tryed to compare drivers from my other pc and my other pc has some broadcam thing.

Look in your dad's systems device manager for a piece of hardware with maybe a yellow exclamation point

i went to my services and it says the dcp is enabled. If thats what you mean. And do you mean modem? Because i dont really need a router if i get this internet to work on this pc. (the other pc has hardware problems and is old/annoying to use. )

Ok fo back to the pc that the wireless card was removed from.Open network connections then right click the wireless connection that the pc did use. Select properties. Highlight internet protocol then click properties. Does it use dhcp or is these a set ip address listed?
